STORIA - HISTORY
Le vicende sportive della Torres cominciano nel lontano 1903, nell'ambito
della SEF, una sorta di polisportiva; ma in campo calcistico le alterne fortune
dei rossoblù, soprattutto negli ultimi quarant'anni, fanno storia a sé.
Comunque, pur nel susseguirsi delle riforme dei campionati nazionali, la
costante è data dall'altalena della squadra rossoblù fra terza e quarta serie.
In particolare una doppia promozione porta la Torres, negli anni '80, nella serie
C1, dove milita per un paio d'anni con buoni risultati. Le vicende sportive e
societarie comportano poi una doppia retrocessione nel '91 e il ritorno tra i
professionisti, dove ora milita, nel 1993. Nella stagione 99-2000, primo caso
in Italia, la squadra maschile, promossa in serie C1, e quella femminile,
laureatasi poi campione d'Italia, hanno fatto capo alla stessa società. Dopo
aver sfiorato la serie B nella stagione 2005-2006 la Torres, a causa delle
difficoltà finanziarie, dopo due stagioni in C2, è ripartita nel 2008-2009 dal
torneo di Promozione, dove ha vinto il campionato raggiungendo l’Eccellenza e
riassumendo poi la denominazione di Sef Torres 1903, per poi vincere nel
2011-12 e 2012-13 anche il campionato di Eccellenza e il Campionato Nazionale
Dilettanti, conseguendo così il ritorno fra i professionisti, cui hanno fatto
seguito stagioni altalenanti fino al ritorno in quarta serie e dalla stagione
2022-23 in serie C.
Since 1903 SEF Torres were involved in a lot of sports
activities. Last forty years were marked by the presence of the sardinian
football team in Serie C or Serie D, until the eighties, when the team had some
good seasons in Serie C1. Now Torres plays among italian pro teams. During
99-2000 season, first case in Italy, men's and women's team were included in
the same club, and over the following years team was about to be promoted to
serie B. Since 2008-2009 season, because of club financial crisis, team started
back from regional divisions, winning Promozione championship and being
promoted to Eccellenza with the name of Sef Torres 1903, and winning Eccellenza
and Semi Pro championships in 2012 e 2013, obtaining the return to national pro
tournaments, followed by alternate results until promotion to Serie D and then
to Serie C where Torres is currently playing.
